Custom Domain

The Custom Domain section ("Configure a custom domain for your platform") lets you use a company address instead of nome-azienda.leavepilot.app. The original address keeps working.

Primary domain

The first group shows your {name}.leavepilot.app with the label Active: "This is the domain assigned to your platform. It cannot be removed."

Adding a domain

In the Add custom domain group, the How to create a subdomain box sums up the steps: get into your domain provider's panel, open the DNS section, create a CNAME record with the data provided, save and wait for propagation (from a few minutes to 48 hours).

Type the Domain (for example app.yourcompany.com, lowercase, without https://) and press Configure. You cannot use a domain ending in leavepilot.app.

DNS Configuration

The DNS Configuration group shows the DNS Instructions table with the record to create at your domain provider:

The Copy button copies the name and the value of the record, separated by a tab. Once the record exists, press Verify DNS. The messages you may get come back in Italian:

• Il dominio non ha un record CNAME configurato. Verifica di aver creato il record DNS e attendi la propagazione. ("the domain has no CNAME record: check you created the DNS record and wait for propagation")
• Il record CNAME punta a "x" invece di "y". Verifica la configurazione DNS. ("the CNAME record points to "x" instead of "y": check the DNS configuration")
• Errore durante la verifica DNS. Riprova tra qualche minuto. ("DNS check failed: try again in a few minutes")

Cancel and remove domain drops the request.

Activation

If the check succeeds, the status becomes Attivazione in corso... (Italian for "activation in progress", left untranslated: "stiamo configurando il dominio. Attendere qualche secondo.", we are setting the domain up, wait a few seconds). Then:

• Active domain: the Additional custom domain group shows the domain with its link and the line CNAME → {name}.leavepilot.app. You get the email Il tuo dominio {domain} è attivo! ("your domain {domain} is active!", sent in Italian). The security certificate is issued automatically; from that moment you and your colleagues can sign in from there too.
• Attivazione fallita ("activation failed"): "l'attivazione automatica non è riuscita. L'amministratore è stato notificato. Puoi riprovare o attendere l'attivazione manuale" (automatic activation did not work, the administrator has been told, you can retry or wait for a manual activation). Support gets an email; you can press Riprova attivazione ("retry activation") or Annulla richiesta ("cancel request"), both left in Italian in this block.
• DNS verified — pending activation: in some cases support completes the activation within 24 business hours.

Removing the domain

In the active domain group, Remove domain asks for confirmation. If the removal does not go through you get Rimozione non riuscita: il dominio è ancora attivo. Riprova fra qualche minuto. ("removal failed: the domain is still active, try again in a few minutes") and the domain stays configured.

You can have one custom domain per organisation.

After the activation

• Tell people the new address: the credentials are the same.
• The links in the emails point to the address the action was taken from: if you work from the custom domain, the buttons take you there. The ones in the scheduled emails (summary, birthdays) point to the workspace address. Both work.
