Timezone and date format
The company timezone used for scheduled emails, the format of numeric dates and the preferences for the clock in the header.
The Timezone section (Clock and Timezone Settings) mixes two kinds of setting: two apply to the whole organisation, three only to the clock in your browser. A single Save Settings button saves all of them.
For the whole organisation
Company timezone
"Used for scheduled emails (e.g. the team holiday summary). This is not the display preference below."
A menu with twelve cities: Rome, London, Paris, Berlin, Madrid, New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Tokyo, Shanghai, Dubai, Sydney. Default Rome, Italy.
It sets the time the team holiday summary goes out and the reference day for its content. It has no effect on how days are counted, nor on the users' clock.
Date format
"Format used for numeric dates across the platform (request lists, employees, documents)."
- European (dd/mm/yyyy), default
- US (mm/dd/yyyy)
- ISO (yyyy-mm-dd)
Next to each option today's date is shown as an example. It applies to numeric dates in the panel tables.
Only for your browser
These preferences affect the clock in the header and stay in the browser you are using: they change nothing for other users and nothing for the emails.
- Timezone Selection: Auto-detect (default, with the Detected timezone line) or one of the twelve cities. The Preview box shows the clock live.
- Full timezone name: shows
Europe/Romeinstead ofGMT+2. Enabled / Disabled (default). - Visual indicators: shows whether the timezone is automatic or manual. Enabled (default) / Disabled.
The How it works box sums it up: automatic uses the device timezone, manual forces a specific one, the indicators show which mode is active.
Saving
Save Settings shows Settings saved successfully! for three seconds. If saving the company timezone or the date format failed, the confirmation would appear all the same: after an important change, reload the page and check that the value on screen is the one you picked.
